MEET YOUR DOCTORS
Dr. Rose Kim
Dr. Rose Kim has been a dentist for over 30 years and loves working with children. Her favorite part of her job is the relationships formed with families and making a positive difference in improving a patient’s oral health care. Dr. Kim feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry and volunteers with the Santa Clarita Children’s Health Foundation in her spare time.
Dr. Kathleen Mulcahey
Dr. Kathy Mulcahey is both an orthodontist and a pediatric dentist. She loves to interact with people and develop relationships with the kids and their parents every day. Dr. Mulcahey enjoys watching the kids grow up and seeing all of the fun things that they plan for their future. She finds it fun to be goofy and not have to worry about how silly you are around the kids.

Alexa
Claims/Benefits Coordinator & Front Desk Representative
Alexa | Claims/Benefits Coordinator & Front Desk Representative
Alexa joined the Valencia Smiles Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry team in 2018 as a Claims/Benefits Coordinator & Front Desk Representative. She is passionate about managing outstanding insurance claims and navigating complex insurance issues, while helping patients clearly understand their financial responsibility, including benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
After graduating high school, Alexa decided to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry because she enjoys creating positive dental experiences for children, supporting families and helping parents understand their children’s dental benefits. She finds it rewarding to simplify the financial side of care so families can focus on their child’s well-being. Alexa also values being part of a team that creates positive dental experiences from an early age. One of her favorite patient memories is helping a parent concerned about treatment costs–she took the time to review their benefits and maximize their coverage.
Alexa grew up in Santa Clarita and appreciates the area’s family-friendly atmosphere. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, fiancé and two daughters, as they keep her busy in the best way. They enjoy going on outings, doing activities together and making time for family nights. She finds it important to be present with them and create lasting memories.

Yuri
Registered Dental Assistant
Yuri | Registered Dental Assistant
Yuri is a Registered Dental Assistant with certification in coronal polish, X-ray and sealants. She enjoys performing all procedures in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Yuri loves to work with children and educate patients on proper hygiene. Her favorite part of the job is seeing patients smile after their appointment. Yuri wants her patients to know she is very friendly and compassionate and she loves to make her patients feel comfortable and well taken care of. One of her favorite patient memories was receiving a handmade Christmas ornament from a patient while working on her.
Yuri grew up in Los Angeles, California. Her favorite thing about the area is the scenery, Dodgers stadium, Echo Park Lake and all of the amazing activities you can do. Yuri is married with two daughters and loves spending time with her husband and her girls. She also enjoys going to sporting events and theme parks and taking her daughters to cheer competitions. Yuri also enjoys going to school to further her education.

Debbie
Office Manager
Debbie | Office Manager
Debbie joined the Valencia Smiles team in 2004 as an Office Manager. She earned an Associate of Art degree in Business Administration, her X-ray license, is certified in coronal polish and is a registered dental assistant.
Debbie loves working in pediatrics and orthodontics and finds joy in helping patients design and transform their smiles. With many years of experience in the field, she appreciates how much orthodontics has advanced and enjoys being part of each patient’s smile journey. She is especially passionate about working with pediatric patients, encouraging them as they overcome their fears and grow more confident with each visit. In addition to presenting cases and overseeing practice operations, Debbie values building lasting relationships with patients and their families. One of her favorite parts of her job is watching children grow up and later return with little ones of their own as patients.
Outside the office, Debbie loves spending time and making memories with her family, friends and grandchildren. She is her grandchildren’s biggest fan and goes to all their sports and events. She loves to stay active outdoors, and enjoys hiking, camping, biking and traveling.
Elaine
Registered Dental Assistant
Elaine | Registered Dental Assistant
Elaine joined the Valencia Smiles team in 2020 as a Dental Assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix and is certified in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Elaine finds working in an IV sedation setting especially rewarding and loves helping change kids’ lives one smile at a time. Having needed braces as a child but not receiving them until adulthood, she understands firsthand how much a smile can impact confidence. Being part of her patients’ smile transformations brings her joy, knowing the lasting difference it can make in their lives.
Outside of the office, Elaine enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time at church. She also likes bowling — though she admits it’s not her strongest skill — and loves any activity that brings laughter and family togetherness, from going to the movies and attending sporting events to spending time with her grandkids.
Vanessa
Registered Dental Assistant
Vanessa | Registered Dental Assistant
Vanessa joined the Valencia Smiles team in 2022 as a Back Office Manager and Registered Dental Assistant. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant license from the Southern California Regional Occupational Center and is also licensed in X-rays and coronal polishing.
Vanessa particularly enjoys working in orthodontics and loves seeing patients’ smiles transform with Invisalign and braces. She finds it incredibly rewarding when patients complete treatment and feel confident and excited about their new smile. Vanessa also enjoys working with children and feels honored to watch patients grow while helping them feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.
After previously working at Valencia Smiles, Vanessa took time away to pursue a career in law enforcement. She is grateful to have returned to the field and to be working alongside such a supportive team. Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, going to the beach and being outdoors. She also appreciates the strong sense of safety and community in the area.
Dianna
Dental Hygienist
Dianna | Dental Hygienist
Dianna is a Dental Hygienist and a certified orthodontic assistant. She has an associate degree in science and a certification in laser. Dianna has been in the dental field for over 15 years. She was an orthodontic assistant for seven years and practiced in pediatric dental offices since 2006 as a dental assistant before becoming a dental hygienist in 2015. Because Dianna was not well educated about dental hygiene as a child, she did not have great oral health. When she reached 18 years old, she had to have a lot of dental work done. This experience made her want to make a difference for kids and adults in their oral hygiene. Dianna likes educating people on preventative oral health and helping to restore dental health back to normal. By working with children, she can help make a difference early in their lives.
Dianna enjoys working with kids and teenagers because they are a fun and exciting group of people. She likes talking to and getting to know her patients and educating them on oral health. Dianna takes joy in cleaning teeth and making people feel better. She is kind and patient and likes getting to know you. Dianna’s favorite memories of patients are those who cry when they see how different their teeth look after dental work. She also has great memories of patients who have asked her for a hug. That always makes her day.
Dianna grew up in Los Angeles until she moved to the San Fernando Valley when she was 13 years old. She loves the valley but loves Santa Clarita even more. Dianna finds the area so quiet and peaceful, with barely any traffic. Everyone has always been very friendly to her since she moved to the area. Dianna lives with her fiancee and her young son. She has a sister and a brother and grew up with many dogs. Dianna’s love for animals is why she volunteers at animal shelters. She also has a niece she loves hanging out with. Dianna enjoys doing lots of activities with her son. When away from work, she likes to draw, paint and ride her bike. Dianna also enjoys watching cartoons and documentaries about nature and learning new things. She also writes; books and children’s books.

Yasmin
Front Desk Representative
Yasmin | Front Desk Representative
Yasmin joined the Valencia Smiles team as the Front Desk Representative in 2023. Yasmin graduated from Concorde Career College, where she obtained her dental assisting certifications. She finds joy in all aspects of dental care, from routine cleanings and fillings to more complex procedures like orthodontic treatment and especially sinus augmentations.
Yasmin was inspired to pursue a career in the dental field by her positive experience with her wonderful childhood dentist. She aims to recreate the warm and inviting environment she remembers, making patients feel comfortable and cared for during their visits. Her favorite part of her job is witnessing the positive impact dental care can have on patients, turning their frowns into smiles and improving their overall well-being.
Outside of work, Yasmin enjoys spending time with her family and taking her beloved Boston Terrier, Ava, on long walks. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book and indulging in cheesy Lifetime movies.

Elena | Dental Assistant
Elena is one of our amazing dental assistants who joined the Valencia Smiles team in 2024 after attending Santa Clarita School of Dental Assisting. She grew up in Santa Clarita, and she was a patient at Valencia Smiles growing up! She loves making patients feel comfortable and excited to come back to the dentist, and she dreams of becoming a dental hygienist someday.
Outside of the office, Elena loves thrifting, traveling, taking photos and spending time with friends.
